5 tips to perform well on the SAT

As friends and family know, for a high school student, the last year and a half before heading off the college is an intense one: applying to universities, taking AP classes, volunteering and taking every standardized test known to man, including the all-important SAT®. Students definitely learn a lot, and with determination and hard work they're able to do well and get into their dream schools!

One of the most difficult parts of getting into a good school is taking the SAT®. It's intense! But you can do well because of a few tried-and-true tips that have been passed down from students who've taken it and scored well over the years. It's good karma to share these tips, so check them out, use them, and achieve the high score that will help you reach your academic goals.

Tip #1: Give yourself at least six weeks to study. Remember: The Sat® will take over four hours to complete, when you add in breaks. You'll be tested on a LOT of material, so if you space out your studying over at least six weeks, you'll have ample time to study and focus on your weakest areas.

Tip #2: Get regular exercise. Not only will this keep you in shape, but it will keep your mind sharp, too, and give you lots of energy to get through your busy days. As for test day, try to go for a quick run in the morning, if you can.

Tip #3: Eat well. Though you may be tempted to scarf down burgers and fries during late-night study sessions, don't. Fruits, vegetables and plant-based proteins will keep your energy levels up and brain activity high.

Tip #4: Take the SAT® more than once. Most students take it twice, and some even take it three times! If you take it twice, take it either twice during your junior year, or once during your junior year and once during the fall of your senior year, since that will be your last chance for your score to count for college admissions.

Tip #5: Get help. Not everyone can do it alone. Kranse Institute created the top online SAT® prep course, where students have the highest score increase out of any other course. The creator is a Shark Tank winner and perfect score student who developed unique strategies to conquer the SAT® and get a perfect score. That doesn't mean that everyone will get a perfect score, but Kranse Institute guarantees you'll improve your score or your money back.
